This perfect specimen of a pebble pendant was made by the Mezcala Culture centered in Guerrero State in western Mexico. The pendant is made of mottled green diorite, which is sometimes referred to as "cultural jade". This pendant is probably the finest specimen of its type from my collection, and shows the clearly-defined string-cut mouth and shallow drilled eyes typically found on these pieces. The pendant's biconically-drilled hole for suspension is located at the top along the back edge of the pendant. It is completely intact, damage-free, and extremely well-made. From now through the end of 2009, I will be selling a collection of artifacts, antiquities, relics, and antiques assembled during the past 45 years. All items were legally acquired, are guaranteed to be authentic, and I offer a guaranteed full refund of the purchase price if returned in the same condition as sent within 3 weeks of the date of sale. Items will be sent by appropriate class USPS mail, fully insured, with delivery confirmation. Postage charges are listed for delivery to buyers within the U.S. Postage fees for international buyers will be determined after the sale. Every attempt will be made to hold mailing costs to a minimum. I do offer combined shipping for multiple items purchased within 3 days, with additional postage costs limited to those covering the extra weight and insurance required. This is from my 18th group of items being auctioned in 2008. I'll do my best to answer any questions and resolve any problems that may arise. Thank you for looking at this auction, and I hope to do business with you during 2008.
