A rare fore-edge painted book, `The Poetical Works and Remains of Henry Kirke White, With Life by Robert Southey,` published in London, 1861, by Routledge, Warne, and Routledge, Farrington Street, also marked New York, 56 Walker Street. The brown leather binding is embossed and has gilt highlighting, the gilt edges featuring a fore-edge painted scene of a shipwreck and containing 456 pages and several etched illustrations by Birket Foster. Wear appropriate to age. 4.25` x 6.5`,
