A rare porcelain representative a faun seated on a tree stump produced by Royal Copenhagen in 1916 by the artist Oluf Mathiesen who worked for this famous brand from 1909 to 1921 and of which it is possible to see the initials O.M. marked on the edge of the base. Under the base it brings the code 1738 and the three characteristic waves of the brand Royal Copenhagen. Unfortunately the china in auction was fixed through a screw under the base, to a great marble inkstand and go back to twentie's so it brings an hole that has partially cancelled the brand. Moreover the tip of the right ear had request a museal restoration. The size 3,5 inch of height and 2 inch of width. Note : In years 1920/1930 it was fashionable, at least in Italy, to fix these porcelain figurine on marble bases like paper-weight or the ink-stands. The poet Gabriele d' Annunzio, as an example, it had a lynx in Royal Copenhagen china ,mounted on marble and visible between the furnishings of the Vittoriale Museum.
