A scarce nineteenth century Spanish percussion pistol having a miqualet style external main spring.The lock is engraved with the maker's name and has traces of gilt highlighting to engraved flowers.The 8 n1/4 ins octagonal to round barrel has inlaid silver and gold decoration and bears the maker's family stamp together with the Initials R.S.B. This pistol is full stocked with steel mounts.The trigger guard is also stamped with the maker's mark (see Stockel p.471.) Antonio Guisasola of Eibar 1796 - 1833.)An unusual pistol of good quality.
