LANTERN MFG: The Adams and Westlake Co. SIZE: 9 1/2" tall and 6" across the base. GLOBE: Red fresnell globe. No cracks but numerous small chips in flutes. It is marked Corning. FUEL POT: Intact. Some surface rust. Marked Adlake 400. BURNER: Intact. Turns freely. Marked Adlake 400. No wick. BAIL: Intact. Slight bend at top. GLOBE RETAINER: Complete. Shiny condition. No rust. LATCH LOCK: Present and working. RAILROAD NAME: Marked on lid G.T.W. which stands for the GRAND TRUNK WESTERN RAILROAD . CONDITION: Very fine. No rust. One small dent in top of smoke dome. A couple of minor bends in wire cage surround. Date on bottom 1-37. This lantern is a really nice example of this railroad. Even though this lantern is in good condition it is still old not new, tfore it is sold "as is". Not on approval. No returns. I have described the lantern to the best of my ability.As I am no expert in deciding if a given lantern has original markings or not.
