We're eBays' largest clean quilt store with fresh-to-eBay quilts listed daily! Check our store for clean antique quilts @ Buy-It-Now prices and feel free to make us reasonable offers! From the 1880's, this Patchwork quilt is made using scrap bag cotton prints and solids for the 2-1/2" squares HAND PIECED in 9 patch blocks set on point, and a white dot on Cadet blue for the background. Measuring 86" x 74", it has a thin cotton batting, a hand applied Turkey red binding, and a bright white back. Minimal HAND QUILTING with angle quilting over the entire quilt @ 4 to 5 stitches per inch. PROFESSIONALLY HAND LAUNDERED , we found no rips, tears or odors, but one old 1/4" sew-up near the binding, and a light spot on the Cadet blue background. That spot was dark & sticky (like old cough syrup) and, after just a gentle soak, the spot & stickiness came out, but it left a light spot w it was. This is why we hand launder our quilts, as "spots" left in can damage the fabrics. DON'T BE MISLED ~ if quilts weren't meant to be laundered, they wouldn't be made of cotton. Collectors may prefer unwashed quilts but, in our opinion, they're just collecting stains that could damage the quilt or their health!
