AA (Automobile Association) Very Rare AA "The Man" Quality- Pin Badge. You are bidding on a very rare peice of AA (Automobile Association) memorabilia/collectors item. The badges were specially commissioned by the AA to acknowledge and mark the importance and significant role that its Patrol men carried out. Indeed the AA Partol was held in such high esteeme by the Directors, board members, management and staff alike. Seeing the aaPatrolman as the most important role of all within the AA and throughout its many businesses. This was due to the fact that they were the public face of the organisation and were priviledged to be in a position to be able to serve the AA's valued members. The very people whome paid everyones wages and the very reason for all staffs being employed. Thes badges were commissioned to formally mark the significance of its Patrols, were of a very low volume production run and the ownership of the badges was sought as being very presigeous. The badges were owned exclusively by "some" of the AA's patrols , were worn with pride and provided a sense of status amongst the Patrols peer group and the AA's roadside management. Due to this the badges were very sought after and ownership was sen as being prestigeous amongst the general Patrol population and provided a psycological sense of additional status. The badges were commissioned and created as a one off and were of very low number. Therefor these are very sought after and rare. Their main recipitants were some of the AA's Patrol men. Which gives an indication how comparitively low in number were produced. This is a brand new, never worn , rare collectable. Has been stored in a collection from new. I'm selling all my items as well as this one as we are moving abroad soon and sadly I have to sort all my lovingly collected items out and dispose of them as I can't take them. The design and pattern is of a very high standard and depicts an AA Patrolman "The Man" in harsh winter weather dressed in his winter/foul weather uniform of the late 1990's /year 2,000 carrying a torch in one hand and a vehicle battery pack in the other , as he approaches the broken down vehicle of an AA member. The words AA "The man" are clearly displayed. A beautiful pin badge. A metal badge with a qualty design, brand new in an individual sealable packet and never worn. A quality, VERY RARE collectable item/peice of jewelery and significant to the AA's history , culture and development ( memorabilia). A lovely addition or starter to any collection. This badge is very rare, marking a unique event in the history of the AA is of excellent/unique design and is of a very high quality. It would take pride of place in any collection and or is extremely smart when worn in a suit or Jackets lapel button hole, or alternatively on a cap, coat or rucksack. (The picture shows the badge worn proudly in the button hole of a suit - for photo purpose). (At the time the proud Patrol owner would be given special permission to wear the badge on his uniform tie) Ideal for wear on special events, meetings, at clubs or commemorative occasions , a gift for an Ex or serving Patrol or an addition /pride of place in a collection. Would make an ideal gift Size: 14mm wide x 26mm high. Fixing is by a standard brass spur and butterfly clasp on the rear of the badge ( very simple, quick and easy to attach or remove). The badge is clearly woth considerably more than the listed starting bid /reserve price and will only increase in value with time. The buyer will not be dissapointed!
