What a great bracelet! This is a vintage sterling silver bracelet, circa 1955, from Taxco Mexico and made by an unknown silversmith who uses the initials "AA". None of the Mexican Silver reference books allude to who this smith is, but he is known to have produced items for Rancho Alegre. A popular website says that the initials are for Adan Alvarado, but I have not been able to otherwise verify this information.
But goodness, he does wonderful work! This heavy and nicely designed and executed bracelet is a weighty 80 grams of solid sterling silver. Composed of 5 rectangular links, each with an applied Aztec motif above a purposefully darkened ground. It is just delicious!
The bracelet closes with a well working slide in clasp. Very stunning on the wrist!

Misc Info:General: The majority of my items are vintage, ranging from 25 to 80 years old. These items have been lovingly used and worn and may show age-related wear or patina. I will always note in the Condition section anything above and beyond normal wear. Understand, as well, that most Mexican Silver is hand made or partially hand made and will show evidence of tool marks or other elements of a hand workmanship.
My vintage silver items also may show some tarnish. I test all stones with a precision gem tester and silver content is tested as well in most cases unless otherwise specified. I clearly outline all major repairs that I know about. The pieces are marked as I have stated and never, ever knowingly "enhanced". I date the pieces by marks, style, and over 25 years experience of dealing in vintage items.
Please ask questions if you need more information about a specific piece. I strive to answer questions very promptly!
