Using his 5 ½ x 7 ¾�€ stationary Aaron Copland responds to a fan’s letter in full: “May 26, 1978 / Dear Mr. Kaiser: / It was good of you to write me so enthusiastically. / I thought I would let you know that I shall be conducting the national Symphony in Washington in a program that includes two of my own works. The concert dates are November 21, 22 and 24. / It is always a pleasure to know that my music has aroused so enthusiastic a response in the mind of a listener.
