You are looking at a quite impressive 12" American Brilliant Cut Glass Vase in a stunning Corset Waisted Form by the Thomas A. Niland Cut Glass Co. in their Thomas Mortensen " Butterfly " pattern patented in 1899 and was produced until 1902 when their company closed. What makes this pattern so unique is along with the 2 Large Cut Butterfly's measuring approx 2.5" x 2.25" is the array of Intaglio Cut Fruit consisting of a Pear, Apples, Cherrie's, and Grapes surrounded by 2 crystal clear wraped branches. Please refer to below pictures for precise descriptions in cutting form. I have found no signature on this piece. This piece is very precisely and deeply cut and is polished to a mirror-like perfection; the blank is very clear and colorless!! A wonderful display piece with a most unique pattern. The piece is in extremely fine condition. Completely wheel-polished and the major miters are extreme and very sharp in their depth-of-cut. An excellent example of the best of American Brilliant Cut Glass that deserves prominent display in your collection. The Vase measures 12" High x 5" Wide and weighs almost 5 pounds at exactly 4 Lbs 13.6 oz. Condition: It is in excellent condition with no cracks, hairlines or interior residue (sickness) it does have a few tiny nicks to the teeth other than that simply perfect!!!
