Abraham Lincoln Assassination Relic - Original Wallpaper from Lincoln Death Room Abraham Lincoln (February 12, 1809 – April 15, 1865) was the 16th President of the United States, serving from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. Offered here is an incredible piece of Civil War and Lincoln memorabilia. You are bidding on an original fragment of wallpaper taken from the Lincoln death room within the Petersen House in Washington, D.C. Item Background and Other Information: The wallpaper fragment offered in this auction was removed from the Lincoln death room sometime between the late 1800s and early 1900s. When the wallpaper was removed from the room, multiple layers of wallpaper were intact, some with different designs. We have attached a copy of a letter from the National Park Service in 1978, verifying the wallpaper archive's authenticity for the original owner at that time. We, the current sellers, purchased the Lincoln death room wallpaper archive from the world renowned Heritage Auction Galleries () in 2011. We then personally clipped the currently offered wallpaper fragment from one of the designs that was included in the wallpaper archive. The offered fragment's dimensions are approximately .75 x 0.40 inches. We are happy to offer it here, and in turn help recoup some of our investment. Please note that samples read more
