ABRAHAM LINCOLN Life CIVIL WAR Death FUNERAL Train MAP~

Description:

This is an Great and Exciting Find!

You will be Amazed at all the contents of this book and who Signed it!

The signature plate at the front is signed by none other than Abraham and Mary Todd
Lincoln's Nephew Albert S. Edwards who was the curator of the Lincoln House in Springfield
when the book was published!

Written by the famous John Carroll Power who was the Curator of the National Lincoln
Monument at the time of this books publication and has the most Amazing information
on the life, death and after death of Abraham Lincoln, including the Fascinating Funeral
Cortage of Lincoln's Body after his death as well as the attempt to steal his body
in 1876!

This Remarkable Book has literally everything Lincoln Related within it's pages.
An Exceptional and all-inclusive book that goes very detailed accounts of Lincoln's
life, both political and personal, His assassination and death at the hands of John Wilkes Booth,
PLUS Very Highly Detailed accounts of all of the Lincoln Funeral Train as well as all the
many stops it made along it's route from Washington to Springfield and vivid details of
all the many Funeral Ceremonies and Remembrances at the different States that it stopped at.

PLUS it has an actual fold-out map within that was printed exclusively for this book,
that details the entire route of the body and funeral train in 1865!

Additionally, it also goes into great detail about the building of the National Monument
to Lincoln and all the details of it's construction, with images, and how the funds were
raised and all aspects.

Further is a truly Fascinating piece on the attempt that was made to steal Lincoln's
body from the crypt and hold it for ransom in the hills of Indiana in 1876. This was very
recently portrayed in a great documentary on the history channel which told how the John
Carroll Powers, the Author of this book, got nervous after this attempt was made and
actually hid the coffin and body of the fallen President in the dirt basement of the monument
under piles of debris for many years including the year that this book was published!

Also included within is the death of John Wilkes Booth, Lincoln's son Tad's death and
internment beside his father, and also an Amazing piece on Mary Todd Lincoln and her
death and interment beside her husband, etc., etc., etc...

All manner of things Lincoln related, and probably little known facts about Lincoln and
very
heartwarming and moving speeches from all the great man on the stops the body made
along the way and Fascinating reading to see how much people really thought of him, even
such things as ex slaves collecting money they barely had to help pay for his memorial.
A Very Great piece!

According to the ending paragraphs of the preface:

That wonderful funeral journey. which has no parallel in human history, except that of the Israelites
carrying the body of the patriarch Jacob up out of Egypt, is delineated in detail.
The characteristics that distinguish this book from all others, touching the life of Abraham Lincoln,
are: the Map, showing the course of his life and funeral; and the full and minute account of the building and
dedication of the National Lincoln Monument, erected by a grateful people as a visible symbol of their
desire to commemorate his virtues.

**A Truly Fascinating piece with the actual Signature of Abraham Lincoln's Nephew within!!**
