WOW!!! You will never find this complete set again. We purchased this from an estate over 20 years ago. The woman had herself purchased it from an antique dealer in the 60's against her husbands wishes. The story goes that she feel in love with it but could not afford it so she paid it off a little at a time to the dealer until she could bring it home. The womans daughter remembered every year her chore was to polish all the brass decorative emblishments on the chairs. No easy task! We fell in love with the set too and it has traveled with us and been loved by us and admired by all who have seen it. We have decided that it is time to sell many items we have had for a long time and down size. So let me tell you the facts about this set. It is made of SOLID wood. It is very heavy. I believe it might be Rosewood but I am not sure. The set includes A table with 6 chairs and 2 arm chairs. Each of these chairs is carved from the top finial on the back, down to the twisted legs ending in the paw foot. The seats themselves are carved leather with a very spanish type scene held onto the wood with decorative brass tacks. There is some cracking to the leather and on one arm chair there is a scratch on the arm, all in all they are in excellent condition for a piece this age. The table has 2 leaves. It is carved along the edge of the table, along the trim under the table and again twisted legs ending in paw feet. The table has some wear of course on the top but again in remarkably good shape for its age. The china hutch has shelves and drawers and its original key. Again carved from top to bottom. There is also a large sideboard and a small buffet. One is 5' long and the other close to 7' by 19" deep and about 41" high. These have the original keys also. I can not impress that this set is show stopper. It has such a Spanish, Mediterranean but also could be very gothic. As with all furniture of this age there are some minor condition issues. A few of the tacks are missing, the table has a few scratches, there is a piece of trim broken on the sideboard. None of this affects the beauty and appeal of this set. You will not be disappointed. The table dissambles but the other pieces do not. You can own this one of a kind set for the price of a set you will end up putting out at the trash in 10 years. This is the real thing that will retain its value and last a lifetime. We have moved this set to our storage facility in Labelle Fl. We welcome the opportunity to show it to you.
