Up for auction is a abstract mixed media by listed artist John V. Moraitis from my personal collection. You can view more on Moraitis' collages and abstracts consist of many different mediums and objects. Anything from pen, marker ink,oil, water paint, drawings, image cut outs, & actual photos of some of his larger paintings. J. V. Moraitis was an amazing artist, actively showing his art throughout the 1950's-80's and continued his Greek- American heritage artwork until his untimely death in 1994. Awarded First Prize by the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) at the 1966 Long Island Arts Festival. Among his many shows his work has appeared in some of the following: 1954 Ohio State Fair/Zimmerman Gallery in Columbus/ 1955 Columbus Fine Arts Museum/1956 Walter Reed Army Hospital/1959 Sisti Gallery In Buffalo, NY/1964 Stonybrook Museum in Long Island/1965 Parrish Museum in Long Island. His collections and works have been owned by as well as commissioned by some of the following: Robert Kennedy Estate; Andreas Papandreou, former Prime Minister of Greece; Margaret Papandreou; Christopher's in Pittsburgh,PA. & more.
