We have just acquired a large amount of early vintage textiles from nice old estate which includes several sets of early vintage Drapes, some are Old New Stock ( never been hung ) and some early Barkcloth .Some sets are in used condition for they were adorning windows in this lovely old house before taken down.T will also be several listings of vintage Linens, Bed Toppers, Tablecloths and Napkins. We will be listings over the next few days so be sure to check out the other listings. Up for auction is this pair of Vintage Barkcloth Eameas - Abstract 1950's Drapes which have been professionally cleaned many years ago and still have their original paper wrappers with the instructions for rehanging the Drapes. After having been cleaned they were put away very carefully and never used after that. This pair of drapes are to be used with the metal hooks that makes the pleat but they are no longer with them.This pair has a cotton interfaced lining at the top w the hooks will go but no lining on main part of the drapes.This pair is very wide and they measure 83 inches long, 133 1/2 inches wide at the bottom . This pair is machine stitched and also has some hand stitching done on it. It consists of three panels sewn for one width. The pattern is an abstract design with a grey back ground with pink and then t is a gold swirly design set in a subdued background. I beleive this to be a Barkcloth material. On back side of drapes t is some areas w the colors are showing through along a line I think w the window edge might have been but this does not show or hinder the front any at all. These have a very slight dormant closed up house odor but not from being in a basement but a closet which I am sure can be remedied by being hung up in some fresh air. We have undone one panel so you can see the beautiful design of this drape. Nice estate find and ready to be admired.
