I wish I knew the story behind this one. I inherited it from a very old, very unique woman.
Ernest Bachrach--the presiding genius at R.K.O.'s gallery from 1929 through the 1950s and teacher of photographers. Noted for his disinclination for props and his attention to characteristic expression in his subjects. Particularly noteworthy are his portraits of Katherine Hepburn, Dolores Del Rio, and Gloria Swanson.
Ernest Bachrach was one of the most celebrated Hollywood portrait photographers of the golden age.
