Up for Sale is an Excellent Version of Acadian Reminicences, this is a rare good condition! When I first picked up the book I thought it had to be a re-print but it is not. This book is over 100 years old and it looks brand new. There is a slight scuff on the front bottom of the cover. This has no self wear, see photos for condition as well. Acadian Reminiscences With the True Story of Evangeline By Felix Voorhies Published by The Jacobs News Depot Co.; Opelousas, Louisiana. 1907. Hardcover. No dustjacket. 12mo (7 1/4" X 5"). 107 pages. From the Introduction: The Acadian Reminiscences, is a word painting of the life of the Acadians in the Teche Country in the long ago. The plain, simple frugal life of these people, their devotion to principle, their unbounded faith in the goodness of God, their love for each other during all their misfortunes and perilous wanderings, appeal to the heart. The simple pathos of the grandmother's story comes to us with such consummate art, that the eye unwittingly grows moist, as the reader follows the journeyings of this little band, self-exiled and noble in their poverty, from desolated homes on the bleak Acadian coast, to their final destination in the hospitable valley of the Teche.
