Acoma Parrot Pot Artist: Franklin Peters Dimensions: 6 3/4" Tall x 6 3/4" Wide This beautiful piece was hand coiled and painted by Franklin Peters, an Acoma artist in New Mexico. We have not seen pieces by Franklin in some time and really enjoyed this piece when we found it. Franklin has been making pottery for over 13 years now and is best known for his fine line work. This particular piece, instead, is covered with several traditional patterns and designs including at total of four parrots, a rainbow and corn. The rainbow pattern is orange in color and encircles the bowl. Two of the parrots can be found above the rainbow pattern and two can be found below. All of the designs are very well done and flow nicely around the piece. The combination of the terracotta and black paint on top of the white background is usually seen on many traditional pieces and compliment each other nicely. This piece is very symmetric and balanced. Its sits nicely on any flat surface. It is in excellent condition; free of scuffs, scratches or cracks. It is signed on the bottom by Franklin.
