This auction is for a 19th century piece of ironstone by Adams of England in their JEDDO pattern. This is a pattern with an Asian influence that includes pagodas, urns, flowers and trees. The color used is a dark mulberry or black. This item does have some damage but it displays very nicely. I'm not sure what this dish was originally manufactured to serve. It is shaped like a very large sugar bowl. Overall, with the knob, it measures about 7" tall. It is 5 1/4" diameter across the base. I believe you can assess the condition from my pictures. The first two are opposite sides of the bottom and lid. The inner rim of the bottom has some nicks. The knob on the lid is a little rough on some of the edges. The worst damage is on the lid's rim. I've pictured the worst side. The other side has some nicks/roughness but it's not near as bad. The chips on the lid are not seen when the dish is displayed at eye level.
