This is a rare copy of Addison's Knights Templar, the Complete History of Masonic Knighthood from the origin of the order to the present time (1875.) Adapted to the American System by Robert Macoy, 33rd degree, Grand Recorder of the Grand Commandry of New York; Representative of the Grand Commandries of Tennessee, California and Texas. Published in New York by William T. Anderson, Masonic Publishing Company, 1875, 640 pages. Addison's first edition was published in 1842. This edition, published 33 years later, has quotations in French and Latin translated directly into English and also exhibits the strong connections between Freemasonry and the Land of Solomon, Zerubbable and Godfrey. It also sets out to demonstrate the relationships between Freemasonry and Military Orders of Knighthood. Book is old and well used; thick leather covered back is intact and the embossing are readable. Leather is missing from the spine of the book. Front hinge is cracked but front and back covers are intact and still attached. Pages are in good condition, none missing or torn. All in all, book is in very good condition given its age of 134 years. No markings anyw that I can find. THE FINE PRINT Successful bidder must contact me within three days of end of auction. For very large, heavy or unusually shaped items, I may have to take it to the local Mr. Postman Store for packing and the packing fee will be paid by buyer. I ship by US Post Office; Priority Mail for most items and Parcel Post for larger or heavier items. Will try and save you money if possible. I normally ship on Thursdays or Fridays. Please note that books are shipped by Media Mail (old Book Rate) unless buyer specifies otherwise. Ebay’s $4.00 shipping limit for books may not be adequate for large heavy volumes or multi-volume sets. Insurance is not required but is recommend for most packages.
