"The Malt Shop"Samantha's grandmother promised her an "Malt" at the soda shop after church. She wanted to look her very best!Samantha's dress is an "Apron-Style" designed for children in 1912. Fashioned of butter yellow satin. The dress body has a drop waist with knife pleats around the entirety of the skirt. The over-bib has an elaborate embroidered panel designed specifically for this dress. The pattern is continued on each sleeve and the cloche hat. Intricate, heavy lace adorns the bottom of the apron and the sleeves. A wide ribbon sash is threaded through the bib and ties in a large bow in back. The dress fastens in back with satin pearl buttons placed over a soft Velcro opening to give the appearance of a buttoned back. The cloche hat so popular in the early 1900's is made of the same butter yellow satin. It is fully lined. The edges of the hat are detailed with fine lace. A large bow fastened with a pearl and cubic zirconia flower offsets the brim on the narrow side.Photographing this beautiful yellow satin and white embroidery was quite difficult as it appears a bit blurry in the finished photograph. The embroidery design, and lace, are quite evident in the actual garment. You will not be disappointed in the quality and style of this dress. It is often seen the in the Breu German and French dolls.Samantha wears white stockings read more
