AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATE RARE FIND! (Same plate selling for $125.00 on Antique Site) MERSEY ~ SEAWEED + CORAL PATTERN Davenport S Ltd Longport Pottery (Registered No. 4312) Staffordshire England c. 1884 This Victorian aesthetic 7 3/8 " plate is transfer printed in chocolate brown. The clear and crisp MERSEY pattern features an exciting rim with bizarre geometric designs mixed with flowering cherry branches and various Seaweeds and Coral floating to the well of the plate which had a cartouche of an ocean scene of four majestic sailing schooners. Another cartouche has a young boy wading in the water at the sea shore dreamily contemplating the beauty of life. The pattern displays the victorian eras love of nature and the exotic. Condition is EXCELLENT and beautiful. Clean and bright. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. Questions please Ask!Payment/Communication expected 3 days after close of auction!
