This 15" by 12" Aesthetic Movement platter was made by Ashworth Brothers in Staffordshire around 1880. The pattern name is "Victoria" and was made during the end of the reign of this much beloved Queen. Both sturdy and beautiful, it can be used on the table or for decoration. Its condition is excellent. What is so wonderfully Aethetic movement is the use of a fly as a decorative detail. Who ever would have thought a fly was anything but a creature to be swatted!
