This auction is for a 1941-42 American Flyer 3/16" O gauge scale K-5 #561 Pennsylvania 4-6-2 locomotive and matching #558 8 wheel tender. The locomotive has a replacement rear truck, but the rest of the locomotive and tender are original. The #561 has the standard remote control reversing unit, not the directional one. Motor runs very well, the reversing unit works well also. The #558 tender is not identified on the bottom but matches the one shown in the 1941 catalog. It does not have a chugger. No rust on the locomotive but light rust on the tender draw bar. There is no deterioration from zinc rot on the locomotive or tender with the exception of the following two items. One center drive wheel is deteriorating and also one front truck wheel. If you just want to display it or occasionally run it, they will probably be fine, but I am including an original drive wheel and original front truck wheel if you want to change them out. Both the loco and tender rate a VG+. The loco and tender will be shipped by USPS Priority mail and will include insurance for a total of $18.00.
