Wonderful sculpture from Sarah's Attic Black Heritage Series ~Madam C J Walker~ Limited Edition! This piece is from the Black Heritage Historical Series from well known collectibles company Sarah's Attic. Madam C J Walker , born into slavery in 1867, was an entrepreneur who built an empire selling hair care products. Recognizing the power of her success, she became an inspiration to many black women by lecturing on business an political issues. She also donated large sums of money to support African-American rights. She continued to support black schools, orphanages, retirement homes, as well as YWCA's and YMCA's even after her death in 1919.(From Sarah's Attic information card.) This item is Brand New direct from the Sarah's Attic company. It is 8 1/4 inches tall. It is limited to an edition of 2400 pieces. Each piece is hand numbered on the bottom. Very detailed piece.
