African tripod consisting of 3 interlocking tribes-people hand carved from a single piece of wood, on whose chest nestles a hand carved wooden bowl. Not sure what wood these are made from, but the handicraft is impressive – see the carved hair picture. When set up the tripod stands at around 21½” tall and 15” wide on the ground. Each leg measures 26” long. The bowl has an opening diameter of 7¾” and stands 2½” tall. The tripod collapses for portability and will be easy to ship. I believe the bowl is original to the tripod and may have been used to mix spices… could now be used for that purpose or to hold any decoration or food (nuts, etc.) of your choice. Could also be converted into a stand. The tripod and bowl do show some wear and a few knocks, probably from the time they were constructed. There is a crack running through one the ‘links’ (see picture 10) – this has no affect on the integrity of the tripod.
