AFRICAN KENTE CLOTH OLD HAND WEAVED ADWINASA GHANA This is authentic old African very high quality ( All the cloth is double weaved !!!!! and weight 6.8 lbs or 3.1 Kilos !!!!!!!!) hand woven KENTE ( ADWINASA ). This huge " Man size " cloth measures 116 " x 84 " ( 295 cm x 213 cm ) . The cloth was made in the 1960s and is in excellent condition with only few minor stains and minor wear due to usage and age. Check out the other kente and other African textiles in my Store!! Kente is an ASHANTI ( ASANTE ) ( Ghana , Kumasi , West Africa ) Ceremonial cloth that is hand woven on a horizontal treadle loom. In the present days is still used as a cloth in Ghana but is also used by collectors of fine weaved cloths and African artifacts as Wall hanging or sofa covering !!!!!! PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CLOTH IS NOT SUITABLE AS FLOOR RUG FOR WALKING ON. THIS IS A CLOTH THAT WAS WEAVED FOR WEARING !!!! It takes several weeks for a weaver to complete a full size cloth like this !!! The stripes are sewn together into larger pieces of cloths. Kente is more than just a cloth but is a visual representation of history, ethics , oral literature , philosophy , moral values and religious beliefs.
