All material photographed wet to show color.Material: Griquatstad Red Stripe Jasper, a red jasper with white stripes; this auction is for a 10-pound box. From: The area around Griquatown, a small town in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Most South African jaspers are mined from a deposit that runs roughly north and south through the Northern Cape Province, between Kimberley on the east and the Namibian border on the west. Although some of the deposits are large, many of them are quite small and are confined to a single farm. That makes some of these jaspers very limited in availability. This material is from a shipment I received direct from a mining company in South Africa. Company representatives were very helpful in identifying this material and the location from where it was mined. Please keep in mind, however, that I am not an expert and I relied on them to correctly identify the material. E-mail me with any questions prior to bidding; I usually respond within a few hours to questions. BONUS: In addition to the ten pounds ofGriquastad Red Stripe Jasper, I will put one piece of "mystery" cutting rough in the box. The size and shape will depend on how the box packs, but it will be something you can cut cabs from. SHIPPING AND HANDLING CHARGES: You may combine this with other "free ship" items in my listings.
