African ritual wood carving figure 27" from the 1950's

You are bidding on an African ritual wood carving figure 27 inches tall. It is a depiction of a long horn long neck animal with a human like head. The base is aproximately 8 inches round and represents the heads of family of six members. The entire piece is carved from a single piece of solid very heavy dark wood, only the horns are attached. It weighs aproximateley 6 pounds. The carving is in perfect condition, t are no signs of damage. The face has a beard and zig zag carvings as tribal marks. The ears are pierced and the long neck has the same marks as the head. At the base, the larger head to the right has leaf decorations on the hair. The larger head on the left has carvings on the face of tribal tatoes or scars. The four smaller heads have no markings but they are all of different size and facial features, representing children of different ages. The specific date and place of origin is unknown. This item was purchased in the early 1970's at the Annual Charity Bazzar held by the Embassy Wives Association in Washington DC. Each member brought an item from their own country for the sale. Tfore it can be assumed that this item was brough into the US by the ambassador of the country of origin, probably in the 1960's. The carving must date prior to that date. No Reserve.
