African Wood Carving Sculpture Woman Figurine Africa Description: This is a lovely wood carved statue of an African woman walking with a large round object on her head. It might depict a woman either walking to or from the marketplace with her goods balanced on her head. The wood is a dark, rich auburn brown with lovely dark graining. The carving is smooth in most parts and rough/rustic in some. She is almost an abstract interpretation of the human figure in motion. There are no maker's marks or signatures. This is a beautiful piece - the figure is poised in a wonderfully moving, balanced position and the wood colors and graining are very nice. Measurements: 10 1/2 x 3 x 1 1/4 inches. Condition: Very good pre-owned condition; no cracks or breaks in the wood; the wood carving is rustic/rough in some spots; some wood knots and lines here and there.
