African Wood Carving

Is it a Totem? Fertility Symbol? Other?

If anyone out t recognizes this or knows more information about this for sure, please email and we will post it on the listing. Thank you!

It is heavy wood, approximately 9 pounds in weight.

It is approximately 18 1/2" Tall with a 6" Diameter base.

T are 13 People with Faces, various sizes and they are climbing up. It is intricately carved with different textures; the faces, bodies and limbs are smoothed, the clothes and hair are coarser. The areas on the base that do not have the darker color are a mystery. It could be the natural wood or ? It looks like the wood as this is carved from a tree limb (t are tree age rings on the bottom).

We can not make representions as to the the age, type of wood, maker or region of Africa w this came from; only that it was obtained and brought back by a missionary and it came from an estate.
