A Very Unusual Agra Rug With Ensi Or Khachli Design Woollen pile on cotton foundation.Handknotted.This is an Agra rug from India with Khachli pattern.These type of rugs are tightly woven and they are hard wearing.The pattern of this rug has been taken from Khachli or Ensi rugs of Turkmenistan,the original use of this kind of rug is for hanging ,in front of the entrance of the tent.Agra rugs are world famous for their durability and design.They were very much in demand during the Victorian Era in England.It is very unusual to see an Agra rug with this design.
