another freakout fishnuts auction AIR PIRATES FUNNIES #2Wild Off Color Variant Presented today for your buying enjoyment is a copy of Air Pirates Vol. 1, #2 from August 1971. What is unique and notable is the almost total lack of the magenta color on the cover. Compare the photos of both front and back sides against a normal colored version. Not a sun fade. Not a fake. Magenta, of course, is the color that combines with yellow to make red in a four color process. You can see that the magenta did print lightly and sleightly off center about .05" right. I have sold or seen hundreds of copies of this book and I believe I know what the normal color range is expected. With the result this book being the sole version of those that I have seen being this far off of normal. I recalled having this copy but only just uncovered it from its hideout. Virtually unique find in very high grade, but not perfect. Accepting payment in the following forms: Paypal, money orders, cash if you dare, and checks written on U.S.A. located banks.
