Military Naval shipping 35mm colour slide - commercial duplicate Slide series: CCQ Colour Slides - no. 6527 Ship: HMS Eagle Location: Southampton (probably 1960s) Mount : cardboard (see photo) Condition: very good (please see scans provided) Two scans of the transparency are usually shown: Scan 1: normal to low quality jpg scan (1800dpi, colour depth 24) - this shows the natural colour pallette but sometimes produces a dark scan with poor contrast and detail is sometimes lost. Scan 2: the slide has been scanned as a 'film negative' (the image is then "flipped back" using MS Photo Editor) - this produces an image which shows much better detail but which looks over-exposed and has a palette that is skewed towards blue ( this scan is often omitted if the normal scan comes out well ) I haven't used software to re-touch or enhance any scan. Hopefully, using the two undoctored images the viewer will have a good idea of the real slides quality - I'm sorry that I can't provide one really good definitive scan, but my budget Veho Colourbright scanner does a fairly poor job, and I'm reluctant to spend £1,000+ on a really good scanner. No attempt has been made to hide any blemishes or dust particles and I have made little attempt to manually clean any slide.
