AL AVISON (Attributed) - RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT #4 PAGE 3 ORIGINAL ART Click on the image to enlarge AL AVISON (b. 1920) worked extensively for Timely Comics, co-creating the speed-powered hero The Whizzer. He and Syd Shores succeeded the Simon/Kirby team on Captain America and he also drew The Vision , Young Allies , and Blonde Phantom among others. He spent a year at Fawcett drawing Captain Marvel , and in later years did a lot of stories for Harvey, working in many different genres. This is the original art for page 3 from Ripley's Believe it or Not #4 , from the story "The Woman More Powerful than 40 Cannons!" published in 1954. This page is in good condition, with some cracking in the corners. The plastic-coated pebbleboard has become slightly brittle over the years, but is still in good shape.
