AL HIRSCHFELD'S WONDERFUL "NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS" Limited Edition (of 1000 Prints) created especially for the 1989 WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, when Al Hirschfeld received our Lifetime Achievement Award. (These prints have been carefully stored flat in our light-free print vault for over 19 years!)
This special auction is for limited edition print # 235 / 1000 ONLY. Less that 240 of these remarkable numbered prints remain in our vault. This remarkable Hirschfeld Line-Drawing shows 20 (Count Them, TWENTY!) Major Silver Screen Legends, including, in no special order - Charlie Chaplin, Grace Kelly, Elvis, Rhett & Scarlett (Clark Gable & Vivien Leigh), Ingrid Bergman, Bogart, James Dean, Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers (yup, Fred & Ginger for a lot less than $13,000!), Judy Garland, John Wayne, Yul Brynner, Natalie Wood, Henry Fonda, Louis Armstrong, John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe, Alfred Hitchcock & Steve McQueen ... IT ALSO HAS AN EXCEPTIONAL SEVEN (7) NINA'S HIDDEN IN THE DRAWINGS OF THE GREAT STARS! We understand that most of his wonderful drawings have just one or two Nina's! The original art has his signature in the lower right side (Just below Steve McQueen's pointing finger) which is clearly visible on the print, next to the limited edition print number. The numbered print shows his signature, but this print is not individually signed or remarked, those cost thousands of dollars each! It is printed in black ink on Extra-Heavy Museum Quality C1S Matte 10PT acid-free Paper Stock with the title "No Business Like SHow Business" Overprinted in Silver Ink. This large (24X32) Print is very dramatic when framed in a metallic Silver or Black contemporary frame. (Yes - you can frame it not showing the date and festival credit line if you just want the image of the stars! But you cannot frame out the SILVER SCREEN part, because that is what AL wanted! You can frame out the festival dates and credits on the bottom.) The 2nd photo is the line-drawing image alone for strictly for precise detail, as it does not show the SILVER SCREEN type that is on the print, which cannot be framed out as it is part of the overall design. It is not an additional print, but shown for detail only.
We cannot think of any other Hirschfeld that has such a remarkable group of Great Stars of The Silver Screen. We ship very carefully rolled in a 4 inch extra heavy print mailing tube, via US Priority Mail. We are still including a Special Bonus Poster Limited Edition Print from our collection of great WorldFest Posters as a Complimentary Bonus (Valued at more than $50.) Your delight/satisfaction is totally guaranteed or money back within 10 days of sale. We have less that 250 of these superb prints remaining in our print vault, and the starting bid price will go to $200 when we reach just 200 prints. We ship the day you pay, unless it is on a Sunday! (If you are not delighted for any reason, please contact us first - do not leave neutral or bad feedback. We offer a 100% refund! (This is a numbered, limited edition print on heavy 10pt c1s coated print stock, it is not a mere poster. T was a poster of this print, and it was printed on thin, glossy paper, not limited edition and not numbered!)
