AL KALINE DETROIT TIGERS 1954(?) TOPPS #201 - exceptionally good During a trip to the USA in the early 1950's, my sister brought some Topps baseball cards, including this one, back to Australia as a present for me. Baseball is not a very popular sport , and was even less popular back then. The result was that these cards were simply placed in a box, stored in a cupboard, and essentially forgotten until I was cleaning up recently. So you can imagine the quality of this card. To the best of my knowledge, this is an original card, but since it was a gift, and which I received over 50 years ago, I cannot guarantee that fact.I have no experience in grading cards, however the edges are sharp, and t are no marks or any sign of wear on the card. I would rate it as exceptionally good, if not close to mint condition. The other cards are displayed at /cards/bb.htm so that you can get an idea of the condition of them all.Any interested bidders who want further information or larger scans please email me. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AS IT IS IMPORTANT .Payment to be made within 72 hours of the close of the auction. Bidders should remember that if they place a bid for this item, they are entering into a legal agreement to pay within 72 hours . To be blunt, I am tired of people outbidding other genuine bidders, then ignoring this agreement and making excuses to delay payment, so if you CANNOT PAY or DO NOT INTEND PAYING within 72 hours PLEASE DO NOT BID as I shall no longer accept ANY excuses for delay, and shall exercise my legal rights. POSTAGE: For Australian bidders, I shall only send this item by REGISTERED POST, plus Extra Cover if the value exceeds $100.For USA bidders, whilst this item is light enough to go as an airmail letter, letters CANNOT be insured nor have a logged Customs Declaration. I shall NOT send it without Extra Cover ( also known as INSURANCE ), which means that it MUST go by air parcel post for it to have Extra Cover. Stupidly I even have to package it bigger than a large letter! The basic air parcel post rate to the USA would be $10.80. The insurance cover on top of that is $8.10 for the first $100 or part tof, plus $2.15 for every additional $100 or part tof. Bidders from other countries should email for a postage cost. A Customs Declaration MUST be attached to parcels accurately describing the contents, and declaring a value for the item. Overseas bidders should make their own enquiries as to the effect ( if any ) of this Customs Declaration. If potential bidders wish to confirm the above postage information, please visit the Australia Post website at.au/international/No responsibility will be accepted after the item is despatched. The postage charge includes an amount not exceeding $2 to cover packaging.
