Original NOS (NEW OLD STOCK) Al Smith presidential campaign license plate topper (tag topper). Would look great on your Model A Ford or any other pre-1928 car! I have owned this topper for several years and decided to let someone else have bragging rights to it - t seems to be lots of Roosevelt toppers around since he was in office for so long and ran four presidential campaigns - this is a RARE ITEM since Al Smith was defeated by Herbert Hoover in the 1928 election so this is perfect vintage for that Model A Ford! Size: 12 inches by 4-3/8 inches and deeply embossed letters spelling out AL SMITH. These are VERY RARE and you probably won't ever see another one so grab it while you can! I bought this from a man who was demolishing an old hotel in New Hampshire and he found this in its original wrapper in between the walls. He did some research and found out that Hoover's staff had been staying at the same hotel and apparently had "pirated off" and hidden some of their boss's opponent's campaign property (early Watergate?). This tag comes complete with the original wrapper and it is so EXTREMELY NICE you will think it's a reproduction but it is GENUINE ORIGINAL NEW OLD STOCK and 80 years old! I bought several and this is the last one I have. Better bid aggressively because you won't find another one like this and definitely not this clean with the original wrapper. It belongs in the Smithsonian or the Herbert Hoover Museum (since Al was Herbert's opponent in '28). I spoke with the curator of the Hoover Museum and he was definitely interested but wanted me to donate it - sorry - eBay it is! I have several other tag toppers listed currently including Hoover, Willkie and Al Smith; see the link to other items listed in the upper right corner. It is in remarkably good condition for its age and is an authentic piece of Americana. Bid early, bid often - you may never see another one like this and it's the only one I have. NO RESERVE - the high bidder gets it! Shipping will be $5.00 via priority mail (2-3 day delivery) in the U.S. with confirmed delivery. International shipping will be via International First Class Mail for $7.50. Insurance is optional - if you are the winning bidder and wish to insure it, your cost will be based upon the standard USPS insurance rates: $1.65 ................ $0.01 to $50$2.05 ................ $50.01 to $100 $2.45 ................ $100.01 to $200 $4.60 ................ $200.01 to $300 I accept PayPal, cashiers check or money order and will ship this item the same day payment is received. Note: Texas residents must pay 6.25% state sales tax. Have fun and good luck bidding!
