This auction is for an Aladdin # 8 oil lamp that is in very nice condition. The Aladdiin # 8 table lamp was made in 1919 and 1920. The original satin brass finish is very good with nice patina and doesn't show any worn spots or blemishes. I show a couple of small dimple size dents in photo # 4 which are more noticeable with the camera than the eye, but look for yourself. Take notice of photo # 5 as I show a small reinforcing repair around the wick riser shaft. The wick riser works fine as it moves the wick up and down. All parts appear to be original except the flame spreader is a Aladdin #11. Aladdin Model No. 8 along with The Aladdin Lamp Co. of America Chicago, USA is written on the wick riser knob. The lamp has an old style heelless 3 line chimney in good condition. The glass shade is in good condition without any damage, but I am not sure if it is an Aladdin shade or another manufacturer and added to the lamp in later years. The shade was hard to photograph because of the shadows which make it look darker in some areas. I assure you it is a nice even color and a shade darker green in color than the photos show. The brass lamp finish and the green shade is a great combination for a nice rich look. The item will be well packed for safe delivery. Please contact me if you have any questions.
