This lamp was brought to the U.S.A. about 19 years ago by a family member. Tfore, I am willing to assume that the 14" Whip-o-Lite(?) shade is also English-sourced. It is quite translucent and allows more area lighting than some of the more recent paper shades we have on other lamps. That being said, the images show the pristine condition of the nickel, the burner, and the British-made chimney. One of these days I shall master the "art" of good close-up and well focused images. The little "sparkles' see on the nickel font & elsew will disappear with gentle polishing. All the Aladdin lamps at auction are just off their respective shelves and have not been "sweetened up" at all. T are no worn or bare spots on any of the nickel surface! The shade trim ribbon - for want of a better word - at the top and bottom are slightly worn, obviously from years of careful handling, but are solidly attached. Lamp net weight (before packing and packaging) is 4 lbs. 8 oz. - without the oil.
