This caboose lantern is from one of the last Rock Island caboose to leave Shawnee, OK in 1960. I was a brakeman on the Rock Island and have had this lantern in the attic for 53 years. It has two glass globes, two burners, three extra mantels, 3 new wicks in addition to the wick in the lamp, a shade frame that I see some listed on eBay for $48. but they are calling them mounting frames (wrong) All of the boxes are old, of course, but authentic. This lantern, an actual Rock Island conductors caboose lantern is a rare find.
