Made by Nature across the layers of time... These 2 specimens (one cleaved piece) weigh 9 pounds together. Miniature tape measure in pictures. Color : Fleshy-taupe mostly, with natural iron oxide swirl. This swirl seems to run throughout. Source : Cut from flint outcrop in orange-coated limestone, Bexar County, TX USA. Some chalk still attached top and bottom & plenty of lichen still covering that. Ceremoniously contemplated and used with efficiency by Clovis, Paleo and modern Indians of the Hill Country, these natural nodules of flint put you in touch with the raw experience of a hike down the timeless dry creeks of Central Texas. Mini canyons and layered caliche limestone bluffs, alcoves of small, twisted mesquite trees, prickly cactus and the occasional herd of white-tail deer startling in the distance...This lot shipping $10. See our other geo & paleo specimens. Multiple lot purchases get great shipping discounts. *** Tip: When you receive this specimen, print this listing and file away or wrap your specimen in it for locale, study and posterity.
