Here's a very rare set of two 12" 78 rpm records titled PIANO COMPOSITIONS by ALAN HOVHANESS and JOHN CAGE played by MARO AJEMIAN and ALAN HOVHANESS .
This is an original 1947 pressing on the Disc label, 875. David Stone Martin illustration on the cover. First commercial release of an Alan Hovhaness recording.

Disc 1 features the two-piano work Mihr: Ancient Armenian Fire God . Disc 2, side A features Invocations to Vahakn , movements IV & V, whilst side B features John Cage's Amores I and IV for prepared piano, played by Ajemian. On Invocations Hovhaness played Chinese gong and drum. This originally contained a large fold-out poster with photographs and laudatory New York reviews of Hovhaness concerts but that is no longer here.

The stiff cardboard covers have bumped and rubbed corners. The two records look virtually unplayed and are in NEAR MINT CONDITION .
