This is a pair of A & B EMD F-9 Units custom detailed & painted for the A LASKA RAILROAD. Along with them is a streamlined baggage car also decorated for the ALASKA RAILROAD. The pair of diesel units started out as basic Athearn items. Both A and B units are powered each with duel brass flywheels, consequently all 16 wheels are powered . It can pull a heavy train for sure. Both A & B Units have detailed with the detailed kit containing all extra handrails and foot rungs that were later installed on many of the various railroad’s F- units. These models as well as the Baggage Car have also had Kadee couplers installed. The Baggage Car manufacturer is not apparent but as with the diesels has been custom painted for the same railroad. All units were done nicely and very professional like. There are no dings, scratches or paint chips and they look close to new. This is a good looking set and all are excellent running models that any North American modeler would enjoy. There is NO RESERVE so enjoy bidding and thanks for looking.
