This is a complex set of bone carvings by an Alaskan Eskimo artist. The sled and three dogs are mounted on a bone surface to make a unit. Originally I believe t were reins from the sled to the dogs, as t are holes drilled in the front of the sled that would serve to anchor them. My grandmother lived in Alaska from the 1940's onward, and this is one of the items she passed to us. I do not know any more about this piece. It has no markings on the bottom.
