This is a 1/2 liter German pottery stein with a stylized hand-pained depiction of the Munich Kindl. It is marked with the Albert Jacob Thewalt logo used between 1907 and 1920. The body is rather jugendstil in shape, while the painting is kind of art nouveau style. The Munich Child is standing on top of the Frauenkirchen tower, looking into a stein. The script on the sides translates to something like 'Wenn the stein lid opens, then will come the Munich Child.'There are no chips, cracks, or repairs to the body or lid. There is just a tiny bit of wiggle in the lid fit and very minor denting. The patina is nice. A couple of places in the red//orange area surrounding the child's head have paint worn off. Returns are accepted if not as described.
