i believe this to be one of his earlier paintings as there are no restrictive markings on the back regarding duplicating or copying. i pasted this in from part of his biography " He made contacts with the Orthodox Church in the US, and, in 1949, was able to bring his family to America. In America, he initially occupied himself with ecclesiastical art, painting in Orthodox churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Wisconsin." it was while he was in southeast wisconsin that i believe this painting found its way here. i had an informal appraisal done locally at $3500 and i would really rather keep the painting but i need the cash so im starting out at a much lower price. on a side note,,, it was really difficult to photograph this painting to do it any justice. the result is fairly indicative of what this painting looks like under halogen lighting (in my opinion the best light to display most oil paintings). i set the shipping at $75.00 for crating. local pickup or other options are possible.
