Kingdom of Macedonia, Alexander III, the Great Silver Tetradrachm This beautiful large ancient coin ( 17.11gm, 28.4 mm) is still lustrous after about 2330 years. The Obvserse displays the head od Herakles facing right wearing Lion skin. The reverse displays Zeus seated facing left, outreached palm holds eagle in right, left arm grasps scepter, ALEXANDROU parallels along it. Date in left field. Ake-Ptolemais mint, struck 315-314 B.C. NGC graded, serialized and encapsulated Greek Tetradrachma of Alexander III (The Great) who united the Greek city-states in the 4th Century BC to forge the Greek Empire. He reigned from 336 to 323 BC. Graded Fine with a 5/5 for Strike and a 3/5 for Surface.
