Selling is a VINTAGE Original 7 5/16" by 9 5/16" B&W glossy photo without borders of ALEXIS SMITH with PHOTOGRAPH BY (Scotty) WELBOURNE Warner Bros. stamped on the back in black ink. and Warner Bros. Pictures stamp in blue ink with a date of Jan 23 1946. The imdb tells us Ms. Smith got her first professional dance job was in 1934 in the ballet "Carmen" at the Hollywood Bowl. She was later signed by Warner Brothers after being seen in a college drama production, and was subsequently billed as "The Dynamite Girl" and "The Flame Girl" in promotional articles. She won the Tony award for Best Actress in a musical in 1972 for her role in "Follies" She was nominated in the same category in 1979 for "Platinum." This woman could sing, dance, and act and had a long career.

Photo is in very fine condition with very minimal handling wear. Nicely blended sepia tones and very good resolution and focus.

This is a VINTAGE Original photograph and NOT a REPRODUCTION restrike.

Items are shipped Priority Mail/First Class. Postage and handling is $5 by priority/first class mail for up to 10 photos. Add 50 cents extra for every photo above ten. Insurance is required for all orders over $60 and is charged at $1 per $100 or part tof in the US and $2 per hundred for foreigners.
