Interesting oil on board cubist still life painting, titled "Light Repast," by listed Staten Island, New York artist Alfred McNamara (1911-1994). McNamara studied at the Brooklyn Museum in the 1930s and later at the New York Industrial School of Art. He worked as a costume and scene designer and later a pulp magazine illustrator. He exhibited at the Staten Island Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Staten Island Institute of Arts & Sciences, and the Snug Harbor Cultural Center, among others. McNamara's work is in the Staten Island Museum among other collections.This oil on board is signed lower right and and signed verso and titled "Light Repast." It measures 16" x 20" and is in good condition though with surface soiling. Nicely framed.Please see my other auctions for more fine paintings and prints.
